The CPUMMk2 module supports features that canbe used to limit the functionality of a VM600Mk2rack’s machinery protection system (MPS) that isavailable via the system Ethernet connections ofthe CPUMMk2 + IOCNMk2 module. EnablingVM600Mk2 rack (CPUMMk2) security helps toreduce the possibility of interference in themachinery protection function of the rack itselfand in the machinery being monitored.Accordingly, CPUMMk2 rack security makes iteasier for operators to comply with internationalsecurity/critical infrastructure regulations.A security key lock on the front panel of theCPUMMk2 module is used to enable or disableVM600Mk2 rack security as required. With securityenabled, the CPUMMk2 module will prevent(block) certain system operations such as theuploading of configurations and the sending ofModbus commands.
