The module also has four digital inputs.GE Multilin universal relay systems such as the T35 basic transformer protection system, which can protect up to five feeders, or the C90 PLUS breaker automation controller, which is a powerful logical controller for substation environments, can use the digital I/O modules to become effective at their designated function. In general, the digital I/O modules supply the universal relays with either contact inputs or contact outputs to monitor and control the substation equipment. Each digital I/O module has a unique order code, which specifies the type of digital I/O card the module has. For example a digital output may be classified as a Form A output, a Form C output, or a SSC output. This variability allows the universal relay to be most tailored to its purpose.
