The Prosoft MVI46-ADMNET C Programmable Module is a C programmable application development communication module with Ethernet/IP enabled capability, which allows SLC automation processor to interface with Ethernet-enabled devices. It supports both client and server protocols, allowing it to be used as data collection sub-master for a wide range of industrial applications, and it also allows for easy integration of a wide range of Ethernet supported devices to the SLC platform using user-written ‘C’ codes and APIs. MVI46-ADMNET is mounted on a single 1746 I/O chassis slot and has a maximum current draw of 800 milliAmps at 5 Volt DC. It multi-vendor interface (MVI) module API supports both Digital Mats and Borland C++ compilers, and it requires a 640 Kilobyte RAM program space for programming.
It comes with a standard API suit, which provides developers with access to top layer SLC backplane and serial ports, and it also has an Ethernet port API, which provides access to the Ethernet network. The MVI46-ADMNET has 3 serial ports (with 2 isolated), and 1 Ethernet port for interface to Ethernet-enabled field devices, and it also has a single RS-232 configuration port and 2 serial application ports (PRT1 and PRT2) for multi-drop or direct configuration. It has a C written API library with various function callings for Initialization, Debug Port, Reading and Writing Database, Transfer over a backplane, Parse configuration files, and set specific LED indicator status. It has software configurable LED indicators, which shows application, module, error, Ethernet Link, and backplane plane transfer statuses. The MVI46-ADMNET has functional temperature limits of 0 to 60 degree Celsius, within 5 to 95 non-condensing and non-corrosive relative humidity conditions, and it is stored and shipped within a temperature range of –40 to 85 degree Celsius.
