FSO-11 | ABB Safety functions module

The FSO module includes various safety functions that can be used for implementingsafety functions in various applications, such as emergency stop, and safe speedlimiting, etc. as presented in the figure. The FSO module is one part of the functionalchain of the safety functions where external components together with FSO areconnected to create complete safety systems. This user’s manual gives overallinformation on how to implement safety functions with FSO module, regarding theSIL/PL requirements, functionality, and restrictions of use. The safety requirementsfor the application are defined in the system-specific risk assessment. The systemintegrator must obey those requirements when he/she implements safety functionswith the FSO module
