The Power Module Interface (PMI) Processor module (B/MO-60021) controls all communicationwithin the PMl rack and executes the control algorithm.The module receives its operating systemand the minor loop reference value over the fiber-optic link from the UDC module. The PMIProcessor uses this information along with its internal algorithm to regulate current to the armatureand field.The PMl Processor also transmits l/O values, speed feedback data, and the results ofdiagnostic tests over the fiber-optic link to the UDC module. fixed set of variables can be output to the four meter ports on the face of the PMl Processormodule for metering purposes. The module also provides two AutoMate rail ports for connectionto digital and analog rails.The following sections provide mechanical and electrical descriptions of the PMl Processor module.Figure 4.3 shows a block diagram of the module.
